Passing glance

We’ll call it fragment,
The rose that woke

a princess

From her slumber, stolen sleep

out of castle

Away from etiquette and betrothal

She awoke to a sliver more

of moon, oranger

than any Apple;

In her side, a thorn

of a rose tended

by no gender
